Kuha Heneral Teodulfo Bautista, Jolo, Sulu – March 29, 2022

Brig. Gen. Antonio Bautista, Jr., Chairman of Alakdan Task Force Covid -19 and Deputy Commander of the Joint Task Force (JTF) Sulu, attended the Sulu Task Force Covid-19 meeting with Provincial Governor Abdusakur M. Tan at Sumadja Hall, Sulu Area Coordinating Center (SACC), Barangay Bangkal, Patikul, Sulu, in the morning of March 29, 2022.

In the said meeting, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Nhamier M. Jikiri highlighted that Sulu has zero Covid-19 active case for the week. He then encouraged to observe the minimum health protocols in order to maintain the zero number of Covid-19 positive in the province of Sulu. He also informed that due to a low vaccination rate of 27%, Sulu is categorized to Alert Level 2 for Covid-19.

Gov. Tan said that he called for a meeting to ensure the safe observance of the Ramadan. He urged the participants to assist the people of Sulu in observing the minimum health standard for Covid-19 during Ramadan

Gov. Tan further appealed to the Local Chief Executives to encourage their constituents to get vaccinated as the best way to get protected from Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Bautista reassured the support and commitment of the JTF Sulu in the Covid-19 efforts of the provincial government of Sulu.

“On behalf of JTF Sulu Commander Maj. Gen. Ignatius Patrimonio, your security forces are committed to our aspiration for making Sulu a Covid-19-free province. We are always here to help provide you with necessary assistance for us to reach the 100% immunity herd,” Brig. Gen. Baustista said.

Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the JTF Sulu is in full support of the Sulu provincial government efforts in curtailing the Covid-19, such as security to quarantine checkpoints and transportation of Covid-19 vaccines to isolated areas.

To date, through the “Bayanihan sa Bakunahan” program of the government, the JTF Sulu facilitated the transportation of more than 16,000 vaccines for Sulu.
