The Army Chief Engineer (ACE) Col. Antonio Rota visited the troops in Sulu and rendered a courtesy call on Maj. Gen. Ignatius Patrimonio, Commander of Joint Task Force Sulu, at the JTF Sulu Headquarters in Camp Teodulfo Bautista, Jolo, Sulu, on March 29, 2022.
In a statement, Col. Rota said, “I am here to personally oversee the various projects being undertaken inside Camp Bautista.”
Col. Rota added that “The construction of the various projects is part of the facilities improvement efforts of the Philippine Army to its subordinate units like the newly-created 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division in Sulu.”
In their discussion, Maj. Gen. Patrimonio narrated that the creation of the Alakdan Division in Sulu has fast-tracked the facilities improvement and capability development of the Army units in Sulu.
Maj. Gen. Patrimonio said that “the growing number of camp facilities being constructed inside Camp Bautista is a manifestation of the Army’s commitment in continuously improving the living conditions of its soldiers assigned in Sulu.”
“As the Sulu security landscape improves, it is also necessary for the Alakdan Division to raise its bar in providing quality living conditions to its personnel through the construction of base facilities,” added Maj. Gen. Patrimonio.
Meanwhile, Col. Rota extended his gratitude for the warm welcome accorded to him by the Alakdan troopers. Col. Rotas assured that the Office of the Army Engineer will do its best to facilitate the construction of the base facilities the soonest time and fastest available means.
The Army Chief Engineer is the principal adviser of the Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA), in planning and orchestrating projects for Army units.
