Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista, Jolo, Sulu – The 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division’s Multi-Sector Advisory Board (MSAB) convened its first quarter CY 2022 meeting at the headquarters of the 1101st Infantry Brigade in Sitio Bud Bayug, Barangay Samak, Talipao, Sulu on March 30, 2022 to evaluate recent developments and identify ways to further enhance Alakdan Division’s peace, security, progress and development in the Province of Sulu.

“The Alakdan Division continues to pursue excellence in its peace and security campaign that is anchored on the pillars of good governance, which includes accountability, transparency, and participation of our partner stakeholders,” said 11th Infantry Division Commander Maj. Gen. Ignatius N Patrimonio.

“As we steer our thrusts towards excellence, we recognized the full support of the members of our Multi-Sector Advisory Board (MSAB) chaired by Retired Col. Ibnohasim Undug, who are volunteers and subject matter experts in their fields. Their assistance, expert guidance, and concerted efforts for development are vital in our vision of ‘by 2028, a world-class Army that is a source of national pride’,” Maj. Gen. Patrimonio added.

In the said meeting, salient points discussed were ways ahead of the Alakdan Division in its peace, security, and development campaign such as support in boosting Sulu tourism, recruitment of Tausug soldiers, and the conduct of AFPSAT Review Program by the educational institutions in Sulu. The MSAB deemed it necessary for more Tausug soldiers to be recruited and enlisted into the Regular Force of the AFP in order to sustain its gains on peace and security efforts.

Moreso, Col. Undug voiced his sincere thanks to the Alakdan troopers of their selfless service and commitment in the performance of their duties. He said that the image of soldiers in Sulu has improved a lot. He also urged the MSAB members to continue in providing their expertise to further improve the systems and processes of the Alakdan Division.

Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Patrimonio expressed his gratitude for the active support of MSAB members of their time and efforts in pursuing organizational development for the Alakdan Division.

“I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to the members of the Alakdan Division’s MSAB of your dedication and commitment in helping us improve our organization,” said Maj. Gen. Patrimonio.

“May we continue to work in unison as we strive towards our common goal of making the Sulu’s environment free from terrorism backed with the support of peace-loving Tausug,” Maj. Gen. Patrimonio added.

Present during the meeting were Sulu Ulama Council for Peace and Development (SUCPD) Chairman Ustadz Abdul Muhaimin J Abubakar; Ustadz Abdurahman S Alhari Deputy MUFTI; Mr Bomidin G Estino of Sulu 1st District Engineering Office of Ministry of Public Highway, BARMM; Mr. Eddie Abdurajan of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF); Dean Darren Datiles of the Notre Dame of Jolo College; Tumikang Sama-Sama (TSS), Inc., Executive Director Ms. Rosemain T Abduraji; Youth Leader of Sulu – Towards Peace and Development (YLS-TPD), Inc. President Ms. Babylyn S Nisal-Aragon; Mr Muner Saradi, President of Tausug Active Youth Organization (TAYO), Inc.; Administrative Officer of Provincial MILG and Manager of KAMBALU Coffee Bar & Dining Nook Ms. Nashra R Tulawie; Station Manager of DXSM Radyo Pilipinas Hadja Nashra G Anni; and Mr Ronald Ancheta of Mindanao State University-Sulu.

The MSAB is an external advisory group tasked to provide expert advice on the concerns of the 11th Infantry Division Transformation Roadmap related to Governance and Policy, Resource Generation, Strategic Communication, and Research and Education. MSAB members are volunteer experts from the government, non-government, religious, media, youth, and other private sectors. MSAB intends to promote the continuity and sustainability of the Army Transformation Roadmap and to encourage shared responsibility in its successes.
