FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Navy Captain Lemi Zik, who as Turkey’s defense attaché to the Philippines for more than three years, rendered an exit call on Vice Commander, Philippine Army (VCPA) Maj. Gen. Henry M. Doyaoen at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on March 28, 2022.

The VCPA and Captain Zik tackled the Philippines’ acquisition of defense assets from Turkey under the Revised Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Program. The VCPA expressed optimism about the acquisition of additional military hardware from Turkey to bolster the PA’s modernization efforts.

Maj. Gen. Doyaoen and Captain Zik also discussed the development of defense cooperation through bilateral training activities.

Captain Zik thanked Maj. Gen. Doyaoen for the PA’s unwavering support since his assumption as Turkey’s defense attaché to the Philippines in October 2018. The VCPA, for his part, thanked Captain Zik for his vital role in strengthening bilateral ties between the Philippine Army and the Turkish Land Forces during his stint as defense attaché.
