CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental – The LGU of Jasaan, in collaboration with the 58th Infantry Dimalulupig battalion and other government agencies, conducted an indignation rally against the CPP-NPA-NDF at the covered court in Brgy Natubo, Jasaan on March 29, 2022.
Around 297 residents from Barangay Natubo and Barangay San Nicolas participated in the said activity, denouncing the atrocities, rejecting and condemning the deceptive recruitment and terrorist agenda of the New People’s Army (NPA) on its 53-year anniversary, including its allied organizations, by taking an oath of allegiance to the government and burning flags of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).
During the indignation rally, people carried posters and tarpaulins with slogans in support of an end to local communist armed conflict. The protesters denounced the country’s 53-year-long threat and terroristic actions, which harmed the lives of the youth they recruited, disrupted peaceful living, and hampered the country’s peace and progress.
Alias Esay, a former rebel, testified, emphasizing the importance of not supporting the CTGs and urging them to abandon the armed group and instead support the true government. She shared her testimony on the CPP-NPA’s deception, especially with regard to her experiences during her recruitment by said organization. She also discouraged the residents from joining or in any way supporting the cause of the CPP-NPA-NDF.
