Kalinaw News: Another High-Ranking CTG Leader Arrested in Rizal

From Kalinaw News (Dec 26, 2022): Another High-Ranking CTG Leader Arrested in Rizal

Cavinti, Laguna—The joint law enforcement operation conducted by the PNP and AFP units in Rizal resulted in the arrest of a CPP-NPA-NDF top leader and the Secretary of the Komiteng Sentrong Bayan-Rizal under the Sub-Regional Military Area (SRMA) 4A, Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee (STRPC), at Brgy. Mayamot, Antipolo, Rizal, today, December 23, 2022.

The arrested top-ranking CTG personality and Secretary of Komiteng Sentrong Bayan (KSB) of Rizal was identified as Melanie Reyes Sumayang, alias JAYA/HILDA/JUDAY, a Executive committee member of SRMA 4A, STRPC. The arrest was made by virtue of a standing Warrant of Arrest under Criminal Case Number 19- 4393 and 19- 4394 for the crimes of two (2) counts frustrated homicide issued by the Regional Trial Court, Fourth Judicial Region, Branch 64, Mauban, Quezon.

Sumayang, is the key staff of the CPP-NPA-NDF who is in charge of conducting Party Courses and other mass orientations to radicalize the youths, students and other vulnerable sectors such as the indigenous peoples, trade unions, urban poor and peasants thru lies and deceit thereby enticing them to join the communist terrorist group (CTG), particularly the New People’s Army. Due to numerous setbacks suffered in Rizal, the CTG in the region is bent on recruiting potential political and military cadres to support the recovery of Komiteng Probinsya (KOMPROB) Rizal under the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee (STRPC) and its subsequent expansion in the industrial and economic hubs of Cavite, Laguna and Central Quezon.

Brigadier General Cerilo C Balaoro Jr, Commander, 202nd Infantry Brigade, congratulated the government forces for the successful joint law enforcement operation. “We are on the right track in ending this decades-long insurgency. We will not let this terrorist group recruit members and recover their lost mass base here in CALABARZON. With the solid commitment of our security forces and the active support of the local government units, government line agencies and other stakeholders, we are positive that we can end this local communist armed conflict soon and achieve lasting peace and development in Southern Tagalog.”

The arrest of said alias JAYA/HILDA/JUDAY is a big blow to the CTG’s radicalization and recruitment effort preying on the different sectors, especially to the youth and students in various schools and universities in CALABARZON, alongside other marginalized sectors of the society. This will also expose the CTG’s deceptive scheme in their conduct of terroristic activities and its political works thru their front organizations.

It can be recalled that two (2) high-ranking CTG leaders were also arrested by joint AFP-PNP elements on May 31, 2022 at Greenwood Heights, Subdivision, Brgy Paliparan 1, Dasmarinas City, Cavite and on June 11, 2022 at Brgy Burgos, Pakil, Laguna.

Kalinaw News: 11 NPA Regulars surrender on Christmas Day

From Kalinaw News (Dec 29, 2022): 11 NPA Regulars surrender on Christmas Day (By 9ID)

CASTILLA, Sorsogon – Longing to celebrate a peaceful Christmas with their families, eleven (11) regular communist members of the NPA rejoined the mainstream of society and returned to the folds of the law on 25 December 2022, ten o’clock in the morning, at 903rd Infantry (PATRIOT) Brigade Headquarters – Brgy San Rafael, Castilla, Sorsogon.

“Ako ay nahikayat na sumuko dahil sa hirap na naranasan ko sa loob ng kilusan, kung saan sinira nito ang aking buhay, pangarap, at ang relasyon ko sa aking pamilya”, alias Banong said.
Majority of the surrenderers’ reason for abandoning the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) is the hardship of being away from their families and/or the abuse of their leaders.

The surrenderers were presented to Hon. Manuel “Wowo” Fortes Jr (Congressman of the 2nd District of Sorsogon), represented by Hon. Rico Falcotelo (Municipal Councilor of Barcelona) — bringing along with them the following seven (7) assorted firearms: one (1) Carbine Cal. 30; one (1) SMG 9mm, KG9; one (1) SMG UZI 9mm Ingram; three (3) Cal 45 pistol; and one (1) Cal. 38 pistol.

The surrenderers received cash assistance from the office of Congressman Fortes and food packs from 903rd Infantry Brigade. As part of the E-CLIP program, they will also be granted assistance, such as housing, livelihood, educational, and medical programs and/or benefits, among others, from the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC).

Meanwhile, BGen Aldwine I Almase, 903rd Brigade Commander, applauded the eleven (11) surrenderers for their eagerness and courage in returning back to the folds of the law to be with their families in this Yuletide Season. He also encouraged the remaining CTGs to give up the armed struggle and return to the folds of the law.

“Nananawagan po kami sa ating mga kapatid na nasa armadong grupo pa rin na isuko na ang inyong mga armas upang mamuhay ng mapayapa at makabuluhan kasama ng inyong mga mahal sa buhay lalo na ngayong kapaskohan at bagong-taon”, Bgen. Almase said.
It can be recalled that on 27 October 2022, twenty-one (21) FRs were also presented before the headquarters of the same Brigade.

The continuous security operations in the area of 903rd Brigade, the record of mass surrender this year, and the recent demise of Joma Sison are factors of high probability for another snowball of surrenders this coming year.

Kalinaw News: 12 former supporters reject terrorist group in Aurora

From Kalinaw News (Dec 29, 2022): 12 former supporters reject terrorist group in Aurora (By 7ID)

BALER, Aurora- Twelve people claiming to be former supporters of the communist terrorist groups (CTGs) of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) rejected the organization on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 held at the Laang-Sibol Hall, Philippine Army’s 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion headquarters in Barangay Calabuanan in this capital town of Aurora.

Lt. Col. Julito B. Recto, Jr., commander of 91st IB said that the 12 individuals were former recruits of Ka Eric Samolde, a former President of Nagkakaisang Samahang Maralita sa Dicaluyongan (NAGSAMAD) affiliated with Advocates of Human Rights in Aurora Province (AHRAP), a sectoral front organization of the CTGs.

The group went to battalion with Ka Eric and took their oath of allegiance to the government and manifested their withdrawal of support from the terrorist organization.

Recto together with civil-military operations officer Captain Candidato S. Paduman personally administered the oath to the 12 individuals who expressed their allegiance to the Philippine government.

“We facilitated their surrender and withdrawal of allegiance from the terrorist organization. This was the product of our campaign to convince communist insurgents to give up armed conflict and return to mainstream society,” Recto said.

Recto also expressed his appreciation to Ka Eric and other security forces for actively performing their role in preserving the peace and order in the province of Aurora.

“Your surrender is very timely as new year is coming and a new life for you to be free from the influence of the terrorist organization. 54 years na silang nangangako na malabanan ang kahirapan pero walang nagbago, bagkus marami ang nagbuwis ang buhay at nasira ang kinabukasan ng mga napapaniwala nila ng pagbabagong buhay. Marami pa ang mga napinsalang pangkabuhayan sa ating ekonomiya dahil sa mga panlilinlang ng CPP-NPA-NDF sa mahabang panahon,” Recto said.

The top military official in this province also calls to help the 91st IB in bringing peace in the community.

“We ask you to help the government by compelling your comrades who are still active in the armed struggle in the mountains and informing them of the government’s E-CLIP program. Huwag na nating payagan na makabalik pa ang CPP-NPA-NDF sa Aurora. Kokonti na lang sila, hindi na makaporma. Dati sila ang nagsasagawa ng rally pero sa ngayon mga mamamayang namulat sa katotohanan na ang nagsasagawa ng rally na dapat tigilan na ang mga panlilinlang ng mga ito,” Recto said.

Ka Jimuel, one of the former supporters said that the group wants a peaceful life with their families and friends.

“We give up and swear allegiance to the government for peace. We are now one in pursuing a safe and progressive community for our children and families. Together, we can end insurgency. Let us support the government’s campaign for peace,” Ka Jimuel said.

Ang Bayan Daily News & Analysis propaganda statement posted to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) Website (Jan1, 2023): 21-gun salute, inilunsad ng mga yunit ng BHB bilang parangal kay Ka Joma (21-gun salute, launched by NPA units in honor of Ka Joma)

January 01, 2023

Ang Bayan Daily News & Analysis propaganda statement posted to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) Website (Dec 31, 2022): Pitong bahay, niransak ng 94th IB sa Kabankalan City (Seven houses were destroyed by the 94th IB in Kabankalan City)

December 31, 2022

Ang Bayan Daily News & Analysis: CPP denounces AFP on 87th anniversary of fascism and puppetry to US

Ang Bayan Daily News & Analysis propaganda statement posted to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) Website (Dec 21, 2022): CPP denounces AFP on 87th anniversary of fascism and puppetry to US

December 21, 2022

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) today denounced the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for its continued betrayal of national sovereignty and its mounting crimes against the Filipino people as the US-controlled armed forces marks its 87th founding anniversary.

According to reports compiled by Ang Bayan, the CPP news organ, at least 47,017 people across the country became victims of human rights violations perpetrated by the AFP and Philippine National Police since Ferdinand Marcos Jr assumed power on July 1 (or an average of 288 victims per day) up to December 10. There were 379 cases of human rights violations.

During this period, 45 individuals were extrajudicially killed by state agents in the course of counterinsurgency operations. There were three victims of torture and one abduction every week on average. Every day, 126 fell victim to harassment, threats and intimidation. More than 37,000 were forcefully evacuated and dislocated due to intense combat operations of the AFP in the countrysides.

“There is nothing for the Filipino people to celebrate during the AFP’s anniversary. They are despised and hated by the broad masses for their gross rights violations and armed abuses, and for serving their US masters in suppressing the people’s cause for national freedom!” CPP Chief Information Officer Marco Valbuena said.

Hundreds of billions of pesos of people’s money are being squandered by the AFP in military operations, Valbuena pointed out. “Much of these billions of pesos go straight to the pocket of corrupt officers of the AFP, whose generals end up becoming multimillionaires and later appointed to juicy positions in the government and government corporations to hide stash away their wealth.”

“To justify its demand for vast amounts of funds, the AFP makes the ludicrous claim that there are now only five NPA guerrilla fronts across the country,” said Valbuena. “Yet, the AFP continues to carry out combat operations across the country, in at least 40 provinces during the past six months.”

According to the CPP, intense military operations are ongoing in Abra, Kalinga, Isabela, Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, Tarlac, Bulacan, Rizal, Zambales, Quezon, Batangas, Mindoro, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, Albay, Masbate, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, across the Panay island, Northern Samar, East Samar, Samar, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, the Davao provinces, Sultan Kudarat and others.

“The AFP’s armed suppression is most intense in areas where there are foreign-owned mining operations, expansion of plantations, debt-induced infrastructure projects including dams and roads, and other big business operations that are being opposed by local communities because these will permanently take away their land and destroy the natural resource on which they rely upon,” Valbuena said.

“On top of these crimes, the AFP continues to bow to the orders of the US military, including the recent declared plan of the AFP to allow the US to construct military bases within five more of its camps,” added Valbuena. “Meanwhile, Chinese military forces continue to transgress into the West Philippine Sea, with impunity,”

“The AFP has not learned from its almost nine decades that until they serve the interests of the Filipino people and continue to suppress their aspirations for nationalism and democracy, they cannot gain the support and trust of the Filipino masses,” Valbuena said.

“Binabati namin ang isa sa pinakapapet, berdugo at korap na armadong pwersa sa Asia-Pacific sa anibersaryo nito!” he ended. (CPP Information Bureau)

Ang Bayan Daily News & Analysis: CPP leadership issues call to consolidate and strengthen the Party

Ang Bayan Daily News & Analysis propaganda statement posted to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) Website (Dec 26, 2022): CPP leadership issues call to consolidate and strengthen the Party

December 26, 2022

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Philippines today issued its message on the occasion of its 54th anniversary calling on its ranks to consolidate and strengthen, fight state terrorism under the US-Marcos regime and carry forward the people’s democratic revolution.
Extraordinary tribute to Ka Joma

The message paid “extraordinary tribute” to the CPP’s founding chairman Jose Maria Sison who passed away ten days before the CPP anniversary. It said Sison “bequeathed (a) treasure trove of Marxist-Leninist-Maoist work in which his immortal revolutionary spirit will forever live to guide the next generation of Party cadres to greater heights.”

The CPP leadership earlier declared a 10-day period of mourning and directed all units of the New People’s Army to conduct a 21-gun salute.
Anticipated crisis

The CPP Central Committee presented an assessment of both the international and local situation, which it said is marked by “prolonged stagnation and economic decline, deteriorating socioeconomic conditions, rise of fascism and state terrorism, and increasing threats of interimperialist wars.”

Its annual message said the anticipated recessions in global economy towards next year will further deepen the crisis of the Philippine economy and cause further deterioration of the people’s socioeconomic conditions.

The message criticized the Marcos government for making “blusterous and baseless promises of economic revival to lull the restless masses.” It denounced the priorities of the Marcos regime favoring foreign investors over the needs of the broad masses of the people.

It said conditions are “extremely favorable” for the CPP to carry forward the revolutionary movement, as people are becoming increasingly restive amid rising prices, low wages, and widespread rural dislocation due to the expansion of mining operations, plantations and other foreign-owned big business operations.
Kleptocratic Marcos clique

The CPP leadership said the ruling Marcos regime is widely detested by the people for its utter disregard of the conditions of the masses and its refusal to heed the urgent demands for wage increases and other demands. Marcos is busy “with overseas junkets, refurbishing the image of his tyrant father, and ensuring his stash,” said the message.

It called the Marcos ruling clique of “kleptocratic” for having used state power to steal public funds. It said the Marcos government is widely perceived to be “illegitimate” for having won the May 2022 through electronic fraud, as well as through vote disenfranchisement and coercion by state forces.

Marcos “offers nothing fundamentally new to alter the downward course of the Philippine economy,” said the CPP. It criticized Marcos’ policy of “opening doors wide open” which “favor foreign capitalist investors with tax cuts and tax holidays, low workers wages, suppression of labor unions and strikes, and other incentives.”

The CPP leadership denounced the Marcos regime’s subservience to foreign imperialist powers. It said Marcos “kowtows” to both the US and China, but has “declared allegiance” to the US for allowing the plan of the US to establish more military bases and facilities inside AFP camps.
Favorable conditions for revolution

“Amid widespread impoverishment and hunger, the entire country sits on top of a social volcano that is constantly rumbling and ready to explode,” said the message.

The CPP Central Committee emphasized that it is “just and necessary” to wage revolution amid the Marcos regime’s “brutal war of suppression” and “worst forms of fascist terrorism.” The message detailed the conditions in “military hamlets” in rural areas where entire communities are under military rule. It said people who refuse to bow to the military are “subjected to arrest, torture and extrajudicial killing.” People are “being driven to fight back,” said the message.

The Central Committee dismissed as “ludicrous” the claims being made by military and defense officers that the number of NPA guerrilla fronts is now down to five. It said the declarations of the AFP of “strategic victory” against the CPP-NPA is a “public relations” line to justify before the people the “five years of squandering hundreds of billions of pesos of people’s money to fund its relentless military offensives and rampant military abuses.”

It acknowledged that the revolutionary movement has suffered setbacks and losses “in some parts,” and that these are mainly caused by “internal weaknesses and errors.” The message outlined tasks to “overcome all obstacles” in order to “advance more vigorously” in the coming years.

The CPP Central Committee said it is “fully confident” that is can gain unprecedented strength, lead the revolutionary movement in the Philippines to steadily advance in the coming years and achieve victories “much greater than ever before.” (CPP Information Bureau)

Ang Bayan Daily News & Analysis: Mga post na nagpaparangal kay Ka Joma, sinensor ng Facebook

Ang Bayan Daily News & Analysis propaganda article posted to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) Website (Dec 27, 2022): Mga post na nagpaparangal kay Ka Joma, sinensor ng Facebook (Posts honoring Ka Joma, censored by Facebook)

December 27, 2022

Ang Bayan Daily News & Analysis: Ka Joma: A hero of the Filipino people is cremated in an emotion-filled but revolutionary farewell ceremony

Ang Bayan Daily News & Analysis propaganda statement posted to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) Website (Dec 27, 2022): Ka Joma: A hero of the Filipino people is cremated in an emotion-filled but revolutionary farewell ceremony

December 27, 2022

(Utrecht, The Netherlands) – Accolades continued to pour in, as Jose Ma. Sison or Ka Joma, Founding Chairman of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and Chief Political Consultant of the NDFP Peace Panel, was cremated today here in Utrecht. He passed away last December 16 after a lingering illness. He was 83.

The two-hour farewell ceremony held at the auditorium of the Crematorium Daelwijck in this city which began at 1030am (CET) was packed with family members, comrades, representatives of political parties and organizations, progressive alliances and groups, his former staff members, friends and admirers, and was filled with songs and poetry.

Apart from teaching Marxist-Leninist-Mao Zedong theory and practice, and writing, Ka Joma’s passions include poetry and singing.

They came from the US, Canada, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Philippines, Turkey, Iceland, the UK, Spain, France, Switzerland, Sweden and Norway. Representatives of NDFP revolutionary mass organizations in Europe were also present, among them the CPP, Kabataang Makabayan, Makibaka, and Christians for National Liberation.

Also present were representatives of the Royal Norwegian Government led by Special Envoy Kristina Lie Revheim, Third Party Facilitator to the GRP-NDFP Peace Process.

In behalf of all the NDFP revolutionary forces led by the CPP, NDFP National Council Member and NDFP Chief International Representative Luis Jalandoni welcomed everyone present in the ceremony. Jalandoni said that since the founding of the CPP, NPA and NDF, the people’s democratic government has been established all over the country, with more than 110 guerrilla fronts waging people’s war which is now pushing to the advanced substage and moving forward to the strategic stalemate.

Describing Ka Joma as an imperishable leader, Jalandoni narrated that in one of his visits to a guerrilla zone, he was impressed by the love and concern of the masses for Ka Joma. While in exile, he said, Ka Joma showed his yearnings for the masses during gatherings of migrant Filipinos which he attended.

In his last message to the Filipino people before he died, Jalandoni stressed, Ka Joma declared “the Filipino people’s democratic revolution is invincible”.

In her tribute to Ka Joma, Lie Revheim of the Royal Norwegian Government described Ka Joma as having a “rich personality and having a great impact on Philippine politics, history and society, where navigating controversies is part of the political landscape”. She said Ka Joma was respectful and kind and had the patience to explain to the various Norwegian diplomats who got involved in the peace process the intricacies of Philippine politics.

She said one can have an open and honest discussion with Ka Joma, disagreeing on some issues but always with mutual respect. Aside from Ka Joma’s intellectual capacity, she said, he has a pragmatic side, always finding new possibilities to break the impasse when the talks encounter bumps along the way. She said on behalf of Norwegian diplomats, it was a privilege to have worked with Ka Joma through the years.

“Joma had a life-long impact on the peace process in the Philippines. He searched tirelessly for solutions in order to bring lasting peace to the Filipino people, even build common ground with adversaries. He will be remembered for his personal commitment and dedication to pursuing dialogue, drawing on his extensive knowledge and experience,” Revheim stressed.

She said Ka Joma’s last message to her five days before he passed away was that the NDFP is always open to peace negotiations.

To Julie, Revheim said “I know you meant a lot to him, that I witnessed every time I was here. You were not only his loving wife but his lifelong intellectual and professional partner. You gave him both political and emotional strength. Not many couples can claim to have such a unique relationship”.

In their tribute, the Red Party of Norway representative said they will surely take advantage of Ka Joma’s experience and political lessons.

“Joma Sison is one of the greatest Marxist-Leninist of our times,” the Marxist-Leninist Party of Germany representative declared. He said the solidarity with the Filipino people’s struggle runs deep in their membership.

“We are grateful to the people of the Philippines for sharing Joma with us,” stressed Wim from a progressive group in Belgium. Ka Joma, he said, has been a source of inspiration for European progressives and activists. For Joma, he said, it wasn’t only about theory and practice but also attitude and camaraderie. “His revolutionary optimism and perseverance will echo for a long time not only in the Philippines but also in Europe,” he said.

Ka Joma’s personal confidant and friend shared Ka Joma’s life as a political refugee, receiving constant threats revealing that even the Dutch police have become sympathetic to him. “He will always be with us forever. Thank you for serving the people,” he concluded.

“I won’t say goodbye to Joma – a friend, a teacher, a leader,” proclaimed Coni Ledesma, International Representative of Makibaka, and member of the NDFP Peace Panel. Ka Joma made Marxism-Leninism-Mao Zedong Thought understandable and livable, Ledesma stated.

“I and so many others will be guided by his wisdom, thoughts and vision…..we will go on with the struggle knowing he will still be there leading us. Joma, we will continue bearing the torch and fight on until victory. Thank you, Joma, for the gift of you,” Ledesma concluded.

A neighbor of Ka Joma spoke about him as a kind, amiable, friendly and jolly person. She said he was her inspiration for studying law.

Mila Esperanza, Europe representative of the Kabataang Makabayan (Patriotic Youth, KM), stressed that through Ka Joma’s inspiration and teachings, the revolutionary mass organizations of the youth, migrants, women and christians expanded.

“We challenge the youth and migrants to follow the steps of Ka Joma and other revolutionaries, and go to the countryside to join the armed revolution,” she said.

A young member of a revolutionary family close to Ka Joma affirmed their commitment to continue along the path that Ka Joma had taken. Kuya Joma, she related, emphasized the importance of the role of the youth and cultural work in our revolutionary work….he lives on because we will continue to create revolutionary poetry and songs, cultural works and remain optimistic in the struggle.

We are determined and enthusiastic to take on the challenge of ensuring the victory of the revolution, she stressed.

Ka Joma’s daughter, Joy, delivered the tribute in behalf of the family. She said, Ka Joma was generous with his time whenever she would visit him. The peace talks, she said, gave her and her father more opportunity to see each other. She said she was thankful to her father’s greatest gifts to her – the ability to empathize with the plight others, and being introduced to other comrades who also selflessly serve the people.

“I was with you during the last moments few hours of your life. It pained me to see you suffer. So I asked the attending doctor to ease your pain and give you morphine. I hoped it would help, but I could see you straining with pain and watched the rise and fall of your chest. And I wished so hard that I could breathe for you. But my wish was not to be,” declared comrade-in-arms and Ka Joma’s wife, Julie de Lima, Chairperson of the NDFP Peace panel, addressing Ka Joma.

“And so you took your last breath and now you are relieved of pain. The pain is with me now and forever will be. It squeezes my heart every time I breathe, and I will always, until I join you.”

She said the projects she and Ka Joma have, keep her going. Comrades and friends, she relates, give her company, help and comfort everyday.

“It is love that binds us and us to our four children and grandchildren, to our comrades and friends, and the people whom we have served all our lives. I shall always love you. I shall always feel your presence with every air that I breathe, in the sunlight that sheds on me, in the water that I drink on the ground which I tread, and in all the things that I do”

Quoting from the last notes Ka Joma scribbled on his note pad, Julie stated:

“It is unfair that an entire society is called capitalist, and yet so few can call themselves capitalist and look down on the rest of the people. It is outrageous that the capitalists boast of being the creators of the wealth created by labor. It is simply unjust and revolting that the capitalists dominate the exploited and exploit living labor. It is best to fight for a society where everyone can call oneself like others a socialist, and live with honor and equality.”

She said her family is devastated with his passing and wishes to bear the grief in private.

In ending, Julie read a poem, written years ago by Ka Joma, which she dug up, as follows:

I wish to be taken for granted
Like the wind that you breathe
Like the sunlight on your face
Like the ground at your feet
Like the water that you drink.
I wish to be taken for granted
Like birdsong lofted by the breeze
Like wood on fire for your comfort
Like the grass greening the field
Like the silent swan afloat on the pond
I wish to be taken for granted
Like the workers in the factories
Like the tillers in the farms
Like those who dwell in schools
Like those who recreate the world.
I wish to be taken for granted
But I shall smile with satisfaction
If some people sometimes remember
That I did what I could in my time
To add to what is now commonplace.
One new generation after another
Shall create new ideas and new things
To surpass the feats of the past
There are no limits but the sky,
The sun, the earth and the waters.
July 25, 2012

Finally, Julie said as a tribute to Ka Joma, she adopted the resolution of the Second Congress of the CPP declaring him “great communist thinker, leader and teacher and guide of the Filipino proletariat and torch bearer of the international communist movement”.

Various revolutionary songs, especially those sung by Ka Joma and his poems were read, and video interviews on him were shown.

The “Internationale”, sung by Ka Joma himself, was sung by those present to end the ceremony.

A team of revolutionary youth stood as flag bearers carrying the flags of the CPP, NPA, and the NDFP member organizations.

Close comrade-in-arms folded the communist flag and turned it to Julie, before Ka Joma’s casket was closed and brought for cremation.

Ka Joma’s ashes will remain in the crematorium for one month, in keeping with Dutch legal laws.

The NDFP International Information Office will remain open to receive messages and friends.# (NDFP International Information Office)

CPP/CIO: Aim for revolutionary victories in 2023

January 01, 2023

The Communist Party of the Philippines extends its revolutionary greetings to the Filipino people, their heroic Red fighters, and all their revolutionary forces as we enter the new year 2023. Let us aim high and make big revolutionary strides this coming year.

The Party is filled with optimism that it can achieve its goals of consolidating its ranks and leading the comprehensive advance of the revolution. The Party and all revolutionary forces owe it to the Filipino people who are determined to resist foreign domination and intervention, and worsening forms of oppression and exploitation under the US-Marcos regime.

The Filipino people and their revolutionary forces led by the Party are all tempered in difficult resistance over the past year and more amid unprecedented US-instigated state terrorist attacks under Marcos. Their determination to fight back is like steel. Their revolutionary will is unbendable.

We will forever honor the great heroes who we lost during the past year. They served the Party and the revolution to the fullest. They are giant trees who once provided shade and comfort to the forest. Where they once stood, the sun now shines through, providing warmth to a thousand new trees, nurtured by soil made rich by past legacies. The forest of the revolution is teeming with life and energy.

The Party is determined to lead the Filipino people all over the country. In the cities and countryside, the oppressed and exploited masses are waiting to get organized under the flag of the Party. They are ready to rise up and march as one. Turn the factories, workplaces, campuses, offices, hospitals, churches, communities into centers of revolution. Let the people’s march reverberate and shake the foundations of the heavens of the exploiters and oppressors.

Marcos, Duterte and all the terrible fascists will tremble before the masses. Awaken, the masses fear no bombs nor bullets. United, they are invincible. Determined, no obstacle can stop their march. With the New People’s Army, they will carry forward the people’s war to unprecedented heights.

Onwards to greater achievements in 2023!

Long live the Filipino people!

Long live the Communist Party of the Philippines!

CPP/CIO: Baby Rhea has been returned to her family

Propaganda statement posted to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) Website (Dec 30, 2022): Baby Rhea has been returned to her family

Marco Valbuena
Chief Information Officer
Communist Party of the Philippines

December 30, 2022

This is to inform everyone Baby Rhea is now with her grandmother and family! A woman anonymously got in touch with the family and arranged to meet with them yesterday afternoon to bring them Baby Rhea.

The woman claims she “took care of Ka Jan” (the mother) and her baby. She took off immediately after handing over the baby to her grandmother. Surely, the woman, acting as an agent of the 402nd IBde must be held responsible for her actions.

The return of Baby Rhea to her grandmother is clear victory for the family, for the cause of human rights and child rights. Without a doubt, the officers of the 402nd IBde quickly returned Baby Rhea to her family in the face of pressure following the public appeal of her parents.

The 402nd IBde clearly buckled amid mounting outrage against their despicable crime of kidnapping Baby Rhea to pressure her parents to surrender and give up the revolutionary cause.

The parents of Baby Rhea have expressed gratitude to all who gave support to their cause.

However, Aurily Havana (Ka Laiza) and Jennifer Binungkasan (Ka Laile), NPA Red fighters on maternity leave, are still being kept as hostages by the military. We urge everyone to keep up the pressure for the 402nd IBde to surface Ka Laiza and Ka Laile.

CPP/CIO: Black operations: 2-month old infant, three pregnant, one wounded Red fighter, kept as hostages by 402nd IBde in Caraga

Propaganda statement posted to the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) Website (Dec 29, 2022): Black operations: 2-month old infant, three pregnant, one wounded Red fighter, kept as hostages by 402nd IBde in Caraga

December 29, 2022

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and the New People’s Army (NPA) condemns in the strongest terms the fascist-terrorist 402nd Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for kidnapping and keeping hostage a 2-month old infant, and for the abduction and keeping hostage of four Red fighters on medical leave, including three pregnant women, and another recuperating from injuries.

These cases of kidnapping, abduction and keeping hostages form part of their continuing black operations to capture NPA fighters by attacking their loved-ones, civilians and other dirty means in brazen violation of international humanitarian law and the laws of war. These evil and terrorist tactics of the AFP under the Marcos regime transgress even basic human decency.

The CPP urges all democratic sectors, human rights defenders, advocates of women’s rights, protectors of child-rights and all people with a sense of humanity to support the clamor:

Surface and free Baby Rhea!
Surface Ka Laiza!
Surface Ka Laile!

Baby Rhea is the daughter of NPA fighter Cherilyn Rebita (Ka Jan). Ka Jan was around 7-months pregnant when she was abducted by military agents last August 26, 2022 in Surigao del Norte. Also abducted on that day was NPA fighter Jackilyn Egtob (Ka Jane), who was on medical leave to recuperate from injuries. They were staying in a rented home with Roselle Polinar (Ka Palang), a civilian, who was then also pregnant.

Baby Rhea’s mother

Baby Rhea’s father

The 402nd IBde used Armando Rabanes (“Dagat/Antoy”), a former NPA fighter turned traitor, JB Bautista, Jeffrey Muñez and and “Ondoy” to identify and capture the three women. The military agents introduced themselves as part of the “OPAPP,” apparently referring to the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process.

For 69 days, the two were illegally detained by military agents in a safe-house in a secluded part of Barangay Ata-atahon, Nasipit town, Agusan del Norte. They were subjected to severe mental torture with constant threats to their lives and their families.

On September 20, the military agents took the women to a hospital to undergo a checkup, close to a month after they were abducted. They were then interned for a week at the 402nd IBde headquarters in Barangay Bangcasi, Butuan City.

In violation of international humanitarian law, at no point during their capture, abduction and secret detention of Rebita and Egtob, where they declared and recognized by the AFP and by the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) as prisoners of war. At no point where they allowed to get in touch with their families to inform them of their status. In violation of the laws of the GRP, neither were charged before Philippine courts or allowed legal representation. Their detention was never made public.

On October 10, while being kept hostage, Rebita gave birth to her daughter Baby Rhea, at the San Vicente Birthing Clinic. A few weeks later, Rebita and Egtob, were briefed about a “mission.” The military agents told them that they are to return to their NPA unit in order to convince Rebita’s husband (Ka Logan), as well as Egtob’s fiancé, and her brother, both Red fighters, to surrender. They were also tasked to steal three firearms.

The military agents also told Rebita that her baby daughter will be left behind and “monitored.” They also threatened to harm Polinar if ever Rebita and Egtob will “doublecross” them.

They were “released” on November 3. On that day, travel arrangements were made with their NPA unit, who were fed with misinformation and unaware of situation. Rebita and Egtob were to be brought to Butuan City to meet two other women Red fighters who were on schedule to go on medical leave.

At their meeting point, Aurily Havana (Ka Laiza), 23 years old, pregnant, and a resident of Barangay Lydia, La Paz, Agusan del Sur; and Jennifer Binungkasan (Ka Laile), 19 years old, from Sitio Bulak, Barangay Lower Olave, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte, both Red fighters, were captured and taken hostage by military agents.

The 402nd IBde has yet to publicly acknowledge the capture and detention of Ka Laiza and Ka Laile. Their whereabouts and status remain unknown.

Rebita and Egtob, meanwhile, were able to rejoin their unit and narrate their harrowing experiences.

The parents of Baby Rhea, and the families of Ka Laiza and Ka Laile demand the immediate surfacing and release of their loved ones. The father of Baby Rhea, and the husband of Ka Laile, both NPA fighters, have made their appeals on video posted on social media.

We urge everyone to support their cause and their demand for justice.

This is not the first time that the AFP has resorted to these black operations targeting the families and loved-ones of Red fighters and revolutionaries in their desperate drive to cause their surrender. Under the Department of National Defense (DND) and the National Task Force (NTF)-Elcac, there tactics of terror have grown worse and worse.

These black operations, in fact, are the concrete form of the “localized peace talks” being promoted by the AFP to force the surrender of NPA fighters through foul and despicable means.

The CPP holds the 402nd Infantry Brigade, specifically Brig. Gen. Adonis Ariel G. Orio, its commander, and its men and military agents, specifically “Dagat” Rabanes, responsible for war crimes over the kidnapping of Baby Rhea, and the abduction and illegal detention of Aurily Havana and Jennifer Binungkasan, and the abduction and two-month illegal detention of Cherilyn Rebita and Jackilyn Egtob.

Surface and return Baby Rhea to her family!

Surface and release Aurily Havana (Ka Layza) and Jennifer Binungkasan (Ka Laile)!

Justice for Cherilyn Rebita and Jackilyn Egtob!
