CAMP SERVILLANO AQUINO, Tarlac City (DWDD) – Joint elements of the Philippine Army (PA) under the Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) encountered a small group of Communist New People’s Army Terrorists (CNTs) at 8:00 in the evening of March 7, 2018 in Brgy. Nabaong Garlang, San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
NOLCOM troops from the 48th Infantry Battalion (48IB) of the Joint Task Force (JTF) “KAUGNAY”, 7th Infantry Division (7ID) and San Ildefonso Municipal Police Station (MPS), while conducting Law Enforcement Operations in the area in response to information provided by the locals, chanced on the NPA Terrorist Group under Kilusang Larangang Gerilya (KLG) “Sierra Madre” of the Central Luzon Regional Committee (CLRC).
No casualty was incurred by the government troops while one (1) NPA member was killed who was identified later as @BUDDY with True Name Unknown (TNU) as watch-listed in the 2nd Quarter Periodic Status Report (PSR) 2015 being a member of the defunct Platun Timog Sierra Madre (PTSM) of the NPA. The encounter also resulted to the recovery of a hand grenade, a Caliber .38 revolver with three (3) rounds of ammunition, a motorcycle and a backpack.
NOLCOM will continue to intensify its Law Enforcement Support Operations (LESO), in support to other concerned agencies and the community, to curtail and neutralize all threat groups in its area of operations. These integrated efforts of all stakeholders will prevent hostile groups, particularly the NPAs, from executing its plans to impede the peace and development of the affected barangays in Central and Northern Luzon.
