From DWDD AFP Civil Relations Service Radio Website (Mar 12): RESURGENCE I AFP, PNP Personnel warned vs NPA terrorist assassins
DAVAO CITY (DWDD) – Members of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP) has been alerted against the resurgence of the New People’s Army (NPA) assassin group, the Sparrow Unit.
According to President Rodrigo Duterte, the resurgence of the NPAs sparrow unit came after the Communist Terrorist hierarchy ordered to intensify its attacks on government forces in the country after the President canceled the peace talks with the terror group.
The President advised the soldiers and policemen to be watchful of their surroundings, especially at home, citing two to three soldiers die daily in the past from sparrow attacks. Mostly were killed at home while others while doing marketing chores for the command. He also told them to avoid loitering in stores and public places as they are vulnerable targets.
Admittedly, these terrorist assassins and their surveillance team are hard to catch since different person would conduct the surveillance on probable targets, while other individuals would conduct the strike. AES / MCAG
