CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – The highest official of the Philippine National Police (PNP) visited the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division (4ID) of the Philippine Army, at Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City on Thursday morning, October 21, 2021.

Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar, PNP Chief was welcomed with full Military Honors, and warmly received by the officers and enlisted personnel of the 4ID led by Major General Romeo S Brawner Jr, the Commander of 4ID.

PGen Eleazar’s visit is part of the continuing partnership of the AFP and PNP to constantly enhance the interoperability mechanisms that pertain to Internal Security Operations and insurgency campaign which aims to end the CPP-NPA-NDF or the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG).

MGen Brawner Jr emphasized the PNP’s critical role in addressing the local communist armed conflict in the AOR, particularly concerning law enforcement operations that will disrupt or eradicate the aboveground works of the CTG and its front organizations.

“We are grateful for the PNP Chief’s visit, for we highly recognize the PNP’s support which is essential in our campaign to defeat the CTG. The AFP-PNP joint law enforcement operations and other interoperability mechanisms have been effective tools in preventing CTG’s nefarious activities and hostile plans,” MGen Brawner Jr stated.

Last September 3, 2021, a joint AFP-PNP checkpoint in Brgy Pianing, Butuan City, intercepted and seized 4,800 pieces of 7.62mm (AK 47) live ammunitions and two (2) rifle grenades.

Other major accomplishments of the law enforcement operations were the neutralization of two (2) high-ranking CTG leaders particularly the NCMRC’s Sub Regional Committee 1 (SRC1) Secretary and Deputy Secretary namely Manuelito Satur alias Misong and Merlyn Satur alias Maya. They were arrested in Brgy Alagatan, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental on September 16, 2021. Moreover, Adelaida “Loida” Magpatok alias Gwen/Emyang/Kudaw/Robby, who is the former Secretary of FMSR an NDF Consultant and a CPP-NPA-NDF Central Committee member, was apprehended during a joint AFP-PNP operation at early dawn on September 15, 2021.

MGen Brawner pointed out that the arrests of the CTG Finance Officers and other CTG leaders and members in Caraga region were the results of the combined security operations of the AFP and PNP.

“The visit is also a reaffirmation of the AFP and PNP’s continued partnership thru the Community Support Program and the recently launched “Baranggayanihan” as part of the government’s anti-insurgency campaign that addresses the issues and concerns of the people in the barangay,” said MGen Brawner Jr.

“Once again, we urge the remaining CTG members and leaders to take the opportunity to return to a peaceful life and avail of the E-CLIP. The AFP and PNP are committed in ensuring their safety and facilitate better opportunities for their reintegration to the mainstream society,” MGen Brawner Jr added.
