FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Aviators from the Philippine Army Aviation “Hiraya” Regiment (AvnR) delivered military equipment in various areas of Mindanao on October 19, 2021.
According to Colonel Andre B Santos, Army Aviation Regiment Commander, his unit utilized two Cessna planes during the mission that met halfway for efficiency.
“One Cessna plane (PA 291) piloted by Major Allan De Leon and Major Dominador Pongos departed from Fort Magsaysay Army Aerodrome and transported the equipment to Ilo-Ilo International Airport. Another Cessna plane (PA 071) piloted by Major Adriano Dela Cruz and Captain Anthon Ryan Puebla took off from Cotabato Airport and landed at the same airport to get the equipment. The equipment was then brought to Zamboanga International Airport for pick-up by concerned units in the area,” said Colonel Santos.
Meanwhile, during the recent Command Conference, the Commanding General Philippine Army, Lieutenant General Andres C Centino, stressed that the Army is currently implementing capability development of all units to enhance operational effectiveness.
“With the ongoing capability development of the Army Aviation, we can fast track the delivery of equipment needed by our soldiers fighting in the frontline. We are gearing towards enhancing our aviation capabilities that will surely sustain our operations,” said Lieutenant General Andres Centino.
Transporting equipment and supplies is one of Army Aviation’s capabilities that significantly support the Army’s line units for tactical and administrative support missions.
