IMPASUGONG, BUKIDNON – The Communist New People’s Army Terrorist (CNT) loses more people as members continuously surrender to the 8th Infantry “Dependable” Battalion (8IB) at Impasugong, Bukidnon.

Two (2) disgruntled New People’s Army members identified as Rudy Ramos @Dag-om, Team Leader, Team Abe, Squad 2, Platoon 1, HQF Neo, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) and Maisa Guilosan @Ai-em, Medic of the same unit, voluntarily returned to the folds of the law last April 24, 2021. Maisa brought with her one (1) Carbine with one (1) magazine.

Rudy revealed that, “Dili na gyud namo maagwanta ang kakapoy, gutom ug kahadlok sa mga sundalo nga basin kami mamatay sa engkwentro.” (We cannot endure anymore our exhaustion, hunger, and fear that we might die in battle with the soldiers.)

Maisa also expressed that, “Ang akong pagmahay nga nisulod ko sa NPA grabe. Pagtuo namo sila ang makatabang sa amoa padulong sa maayong panginabuhi apan sayup tungod kato nga kaugmaon wala gyud namo naamgo,” (My regret after joining the NPA is so immense. We believed that they will be able to help us towards a better life but it was a mistake because it was a future we never had.)

Lieutenant Colonel Edgardo Talaroc Jr, Commander of 8th Infantry “Dependable” Battalion said that, “Ang sunod-sunod nga pagbalik sa gobyerno sa mga myembro sa Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) sa Bukidnon dakong epekto sa hiniusang pwersa sa Local Government Unit (LGU), Local Government Agencies (LGA), ug atong kasundaluhan aron mahuman na ang komunistang pakigsangka.” (The successive surrender of the members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) in Bukidnon shows the outcome of the combined efforts of the Local Government Unit (LGU), Local Government Agencies (LGA), and our soldiers in ending the local communist armed conflict.) “Akong gina-awhag ang mga myembro sa CTG nga anaa pa hangtud karon sa bukid nga tugutang modaug ang kalinaw, pilion ang kinabuhi ug undangon na ang pakigsangka nga walay kadaugan.” (I am urging the members of the Communist Terrorist Group who are still up in the mountains to let peace win, chose life, and stop fighting a losing battle). Lieutenant Colonel Talaroc ended.
