A member of the communist terrorist group submitted himself to the military in Sarangani Province on February 2, 2022.

A.k.a. Jurib, a former member of the dismantled Guerilla Front 75, Far South Mindanao Region, laid down his firearm to Col. Galileo Goyena, Jr., Commander of Task Force GenSan at Purok Bayan, Maribulan, Alabel, Sarangani Province.

According to Col. Goyena, the surrender is a result of the whole-of-nation approach employed by the task force to convince those rebels hiding in the hinterlands of Sarangani to come out.

The former rebel voluntarily handed over cal. 30 Sniper rifle and 10 7.62mm live ammunition. He also shared his testimonies regarding the false promises of their leadership and the hardships he experienced with the group.

Maj. Gen. Alex Rillera, Commander of Joint Task Force Central, said a.k.a. Jurib will receive training and livelihood assistance from different government agencies through the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), to make him a productive member of society.

For his part, Western Mindanao Command Chief, Lt. Gen. Roy Galido, said that the armed forces are always ready to assist those who wish to return to mainstream society. “Peaceful resolution is far better than ending armed conflicts on the battlefield.” The WestMinCom Commander added that the military continues its relentless efforts to encourage the remnants of the communist terrorist group to return to the folds of the law.

“We attribute all our accomplishments to the local government units and all other members of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) who never cease to support us in our peace campaigns against the remaining communist terrorists,” Lt. Gen. Galido further stated.

Kalinaw News: Isang rebeldeng NPA Sumuko Matapos Makaligtas sa Dalawang Engkwentro!

Posted to Kalinaw News (Feb 4, 2023): Isang rebeldeng NPA Sumuko Matapos Makaligtas sa Dalawang Engkwentro!

Posted to Kalinaw News (Feb 5, 2023): 3 BIFF nagbalik-loob sa Maguindanao del Sur (3 BIFF converts in Maguindanao del Sur) (By 6ID)

“Extremists in South and Central Mindanao are now crumbling and are nearing their total destruction, as more of their members realize the deceptions and manipulative ploys of their leaders who recruited them and used them do further their personal agenda”, giit ni Brig. Gen. Pangcog.

“This only proves that the security landscape in the area is changing and we are able to sustain the momentum. Our unit is always open to welcome you once you decide to live peacefully. The government will provide you with services, including financial and livelihood assistance to start your new life”, pahayag pa ni Maj. Gen. Rillera.

Seized from the encounter site were the following war materials: One (1) KG9, one (1) KG9 magazine loaded with 6 ammunitions, one (1) cal.38 pistol, one (1) cal.45 pistol with magazine, one (1) M14 rifle, One (1) M16 long magazine, two (2) M16 short magazines, one (1) solar panel, 6 backpacks, 5 pairs of rain boots, assorted Medical paraphernalia, personal belongings and other subversive documents.

Col Edralin further said that those slain NPAs were deceptively recruited for the ideology they did not even understand.

“It paints the true color of the CTG as an inhumane and heartless terrorist group who disregards the people’s values and rights by abandoning their dead comrades like rats,” he added.
