A female member of the Milisyang Bayan surrendered to the 5th Special Forces Battalion at Sitio Tabudtod, Barangay New Dumangas, T’boli, South Cotabato Thursday, February 2.

The former rebel, identified as a.k.a. An-An, was a member of Milisyang Bayan under Guerilla Front Musa, Far South Mindanao Region. She handed over one caliber .357 revolver, one hand grenade, and five blasting caps with 89cm connecting wire each.

Lt. Gen. Roy Galido, Commander of Western Mindanao Command, said that the armed forces remain committed to freeing the Mindanao region from the threats of communist terrorism. “As a member of the NTF-ELCAC, we will assist those who returned to the folds of the law in their reintegration into mainstream society. Rest assured that we will help them be better members of the community to which they belong by enrolling them in the government’s E-CLIP. “
