TACLOBAN CITY, Nov. 28 (PIA) -- The members of the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) and Municipal Development Council (MDC) of the Municipality of Talalora in Samar headed by Mayor Rosabel O. Costelo, in a joint meeting on November 26, unanimously created the Talalora Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF ELCAC), to insulate their constituents from the Communist Terrorist Groups.
Aside from the creation of the Municipal Task Force, the joint meeting also passed a resolution declaring the CPP-NPA persona non-grata.
These development came about after the Situational Awareness and Knowledge Management (SAKM) Cluster of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) and the 46th Infantry Battalion conducted orientation on Executive Order 70, Call to Action, and Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) to the members of the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) and Municipal Development (MDC) of the Municipality of Talalora.
The SAKM Cluster of RTF-ELCAC 8 has intensified its efforts in educating and spreading awareness on CPP-NPA-NDF infiltrations to Geographically Isolated and Disadvantage Areas (GIDAs) like the island municipality of Talalora.
Lt. Colonel Rhomel Langcauon, commanding officer of the 46th Infantry Battalion, recognized the determination of Hon. Costelo with the support of his Sangguniang Bayan members and 11 Barangay Captains, for the immediate organization and operationalization of MTF-ELCAC in the municipality. (PIA-8/PA)
