Two suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels were killed in an encounter with government troopers in Caramoan, Camarines Sur yesterday.
Capt. Joas Pramis, 9th Division public affairs officer, said the fatalities were brought to the Caramoan police office for identification.
An M2 carbine was recovered at the scene.
Pramis said soldiers of the 83rd Infantry Battalion conducted combat operations after receiving reports from villagers on the presence of armed men.
