CAMP GEN SERVILLANO AQUINO, Tarlac City – Another member of the Communist New People’s Army Terrorist Group (CNTG) yields to Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) Army unit in Barangay. Camalog, Pinukpuk, Kalinga last August 22, 2018.
Said person (whose name was not disclosed for security reasons) voluntarily surrendered with his issued firearm, an M16 Rifle with magazine loaded with ammunitions, at the Headquarters of 50th Infantry “Defender” Battalion (50IB) under the 502nd Brigade, Joint Task Force (JTF) “TALA”.
The subject, who is a member of the Abraham Bannawagan Command (ABC) under KLG Baggas operating in Lubuagan, Kalinga, was assisted by his relatives, together with the Community Support Program (CSP) Team of 50IB, during his surrender.
For the past days, several regular members of the NPA, Milisyang Bayan (MB) and supporters in NOLCOM area have surrendered to authorities for being disgruntled with the underground movement, the hardships they have experienced in their armed struggle and the seriousness of the government in offering a peaceful solution to the root causes of insurgency.
NOLCOM will continue to support all government efforts to achieve peace and development in its jurisdictional area. Likewise, NOLCOM will sustain its engagements with all the stakeholders to further support its peace initiatives to entice more NPAs to return to the folds of the law and contribute to nation building.
