CAMP HERMENEGILDO A AGAAB JR, Malandag, Malungon, Sarangani Province (DWDD) – Troops of 27th Infantry “Action” Battalion encountered with CPP-NPA Terrorist in Maasim, Sarangani Province on August 19, 2018.
At about two o’clock in the afternoon, government forces had engaged more than 30 members of communist terrorist operating in the areas of Maasim, Sarangani Province in a series of encounters at Sitio Hitman-El, Brgy. Lumasal of said municipality. The military operation resulted to the recovery of one one (1) M16 rifle, three (3) rifle grenades, personal belongings, subversive documents and other war materials.
The successful encounter was made possible through the help of the communities the are. “ We were able to track down the enemy because of the informations given by the local populace regarding presence of NPA terrorist in their area.
They have already learned the deceptive activities and they don’t want the PNAs to stay anymore in their area.” Lieutenant Colonel Jones Brisal P Otida said.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Roberto T Ancan, Commander of the 1002nd Infantry Brigade, has directed 27IB to intensify the conduct of operations in the area. “Put more pressure to the enemy and maximize the use of our assets to make them demoralize. Let us sustain our efforts in collaboration with different stakeholder to make them unacceptable and no where to go in our area of responsibility.
Maj General Noel S Clement, Commander of 10ID, furthermore, lauded the operating troops for their commendable performance. He further encouraged the populace to continue supporting and take part if possible in our campaign against the CPP-NPA terrorist in order to establish peaceful and conflict resilient communities in Southern Mindanao. 27IBAction / MCAG
