Maramag, BUKIDNON – 82 youth leaders from different barangays of Quezon, Bukidnon joins the 2nd Quezon Youth Leadership Summit 2019 facilitated by Local Government Unit of Quezon, Propelling Our Inherited Nation through our Youth (POINTY), Bukidnon Chapter and 88th Infantry “Maringal” Battalion at Quezon National High School on August 2-4, 2019.

With the theme, “Pakiglambigit sa Kabatan-unan: Uniting and Strengthening the Youth for Peaceful Community”, the summit aims to empower the assemblage of youth leaders into one strong force of peace advocates and agents of change for peaceful nation building.

The call to elevate the leadership skills of the youth of Quezon has been the mainstream of the activity. As these empowered leaders are being engaged to different activities that tests their teamwork, cooperation, unity, decision-making, and individual capabilities, they are mentored to apply these skills into practical use.

Junelie Dagulo, the new POINTY Quezon cluster President, appreciated the summit in her impression, “Of all the seminars I have attended, this summit is the most memorable to me. It changed my views on leadership on new perspective. I now have new experiences, new learnings, and acquired new knowledge to share in my community, especially to my ALS learners. As a youth, I am now confident to lead especially to the newly organized POINTY Quezon, I will do my best to fulfill my obligation as your president.”

Ltc Franklin F Fabic, commanding officer of 88IB, on his speech, “You are not just leaders. You are the legacy of your former leaders – the new breeds of leaders. Now that you finished the summit, I look forward to see you leading your community putting into practical use the acquired skills and knowledge you have learned. Lead your fellow youth to the right path and together create a peaceful community.”

During the closing ceremony, BGEN EDGARDO Y DE LEON AFP, Commander, 403rd Infantry “Peacemaker” Brigade, congratulates the graduates, “This summit is not the end of your journey, but this is just the beginning. You as leaders and peace advocates, you should always remember to look in new angle to lead your people. Share what you have learned and advocate what is right. We, your AFP and LGU will always support your advocacies in line with peaceful community development.”
