A TOTAL of 815 residents in Barangay Pangyan, Calinan district benefited from the medical and dental mission conducted by the Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry Battalion in partnership with Team Jesus Hold, a non-government organization.
Lt. Col. Raymund Dante Lachica, the 3rd IB commander, told TIMES that the recipients were given free medical, dental, optical and surgical services during the operation last week.
The soldiers and the NGO workers also joined hands in giving school supplies and bibles with counseling to the residents who were also treated with free meal and haircut.
The medical team — composed of physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses – are with the Team Jesus Hold, headed by Dr. Shella Aranas who came all the way from Manila to conduct medical and dental Mission in the city in partnership with the Philippine Army.
Last Oct. 19- 20, the army unit spearheaded the “Gasa Para sa Katawhan,” a service caravan that was conducted in Sitio Saro, Barangay Manuel Guianga, Tugbok District.
The caravan was part of the unit’s activity in the conduct of Community Support Program (CSP) in the remote barangays.
Lachica said there will be more civic actions that will be conducted in the coming days because they are conducting massive CSP in the different barangays in their area of operation.
“By conducting the caravan to the remote and conflict-affected sitios and barangays, we are facilitating the delivery of basic needs and services in the community,” he said.
The commander also expressed his gratitude to their partners, including the city government, for making the activity successful.
“We are also requesting from those kind-hearted people and organizations to please join us in our future Serbisyo Caravan to continue to deliver free services to the residents living in far-flung areas,” he added.
