PCol. Julius D. Guadamor, provincial director of Camarines Norte Police Provincial Office (CNPPO) said that personnel from the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company led by PLt. Louie James V. Amoy led the security operations and encountered undetermined number of Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) members in the area.

CNPPO continuously monitors up-to-date situation in the province to pre-empt any terroristic attacks that might be launched by this barbaric group.

The police office also sought for the cooperation of the public by reporting suspicious and speculative persons and incidents in their area.

Extreme efforts were undertaken to extricate the bodies of the fallen from the scene.

Guadamor said that the merciless act of the CPP-NPA is a strong verification of their deceptive and fly-by-night activities that imperils the peace and security situation in the region.

The said team were sent out in the area purposely to address several reported extortions among small scale miners and forcing the contractors for 3-5% share on the total project cost of Labo-Tagkawayan Road linking Camarines Norte to Quezon Province.

The PNP Bicol, in close coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), already maximized the deployment of personnel for reinforcement and possible hot pursuit operation against the perpetrators.

The two wounded cops were honored yesterday by giving them Medalya ng Sugatan Certificate and financial assistance from the PNP.

Meanwhile, necessary medical assistance is already being provided to the wounded and appropriate honors and benefits will be received by the bereaved families. (PIA5/Camarines Norte, with statement from CNPPO)
