CAMP MONTECLARO, MIAGAO, ILOILO – A 16-year old female member of the Communist NPA Terrorists (CNT) surrendered to the Philippine Army’s 61st Infantry (Hunter) Battalion on March 18, 2021 revealing that she was sexually abused by a ranking NPA leader.

The victim was identified as Nene (not her true name) from the 1st District of Iloilo who finally escaped from her sexually abusive leader and other male comrades while they were temporarily camped in a mountainous area in Miagao, Iloilo. According to Nene, they were sexually abused and harassed by their leader and comrades. As a consequence, nine (9) of her female comrades got pregnant wherein many of them are still minors.

“Sa amon nga grupo gintangka-an ako sang imaw ko nga si Ka Victor nga irape, kadarwa na ka beses, mayad gani na abtan kami kang imaw man namon, amo to ana gin awat kami nanda kag nagparayu daun kami”, Nene was quoted while telling about her ordeal inside the CNT organization.

Nene also reveals that female members served as cooks and they used to fetch water for their senior comrades. They were also given instructions that, if one of them will be caught by the Army, none of them will tell the truth on what’s happening inside their armed organization.

Meanwhile, Colonel Joel Benedict G Batara, Commanding Officer of 61IB said that the CNTs are godless and have no morals. “They prey on their own female comrades who are even minors for sexual satisfaction and other forms of exploitation. They continue to destroy the moral fabric of the society and future of our youth.

I therefore call on all parents to watch over their children and instill in them utmost awareness on the deceptive recruitment scheme of the CNTs”, Col. Batara added.

Currently, the surrenderor is under the care and guidance of the 61IB, PNP and DSWD for security and psychosocial debriefing.
