From the Philippine News Agency (Jan 19): DND in the market for 8.4-M rounds of 5.56mm ammo
The Department of National Defense (DND) is setting aside the sum of PHP193,981,466.24 for the acquisition of 8,444,992 rounds of 5.56mm ball linked ammunition.
The money will be sourced from the DND/Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), through Fiscal Year 2016 General Appropriations and Philippine Army Appropriations Calendar Year 2016.
Winning bidders are required to deliver the items within 210 days upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed, said DND Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) chair Assistant Secretary Josue S. Gaverza, Jr.
Bidders should have completed, within the last five years from the date of submission and receipt of bids, a single largest similar completed contract equivalent to at least 25 percent of the present contract.
He added the DND BAC will hold a pre-bid conference on Jan. 31, 10 a.m. at its conference room at the basement of the DND Building, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
Bid opening is slated on Feb. 16, 2 p.m. at the same venue.
