international community is committed to the success of peace process. We are
here to do our utmost best to help facilitate the job (decommissioning), assist
in the process, finally reaching its end goal—which is long term, sustainable
peace and prosperity in this part of the Philippines . Ready to do what is
necessary, and with your (MILF) guidance and advice, we can assist you better”,
were the former ambassador’s words during their meeting with the MILF
leaders.
In return,
Chairman Al Haj Murad said, “As always, we are assuring our utmost cooperation
with the IDB as the role of the IDB is very important in the Normalization
process”.
Chairman Al
Haj Murad explained how the political process and normalization should be
complimentary, parallel and commensurate as it is reflected in the road map.
Challenges facing the peace process were also laid down in the overview of the
situation by the MILF Chairman to the IDB delegation.
Two

peaceful resolution to the Mindanao problem is
needed.
In
conclusion of first-ever meeting with MILF leaders, IDB Chairman
Pulat, signifies IDB’s willingness to be prepared as they can, for they know
that once the best scenario comes- BBL passage done, and so is ratification
favoured by constituents, IDB has to be quick in all its preparations for
decommissioning.

of the Central Committee, Chairman Al Haj Murad expressed his profound
gratitude to the IDB and to the international community for their continuing
support to the peace process.
