IMPASUGONG, Bukidnon, October 17- Another NPA couple voluntarily
surrendered to the Army, unit of the 8th Infantry (DEPENDABLE) Battalion, 4th Infantry (DIAMOND) Division, Philippine Army at the Forward Operation Base Barangay Hagpa, Impasugong, Bukidnon, October 16, 2019.
The couple was identified as @Robert, 32 years old and his legal wife
@Nicole 31 years old both residents of Barangay Kalabugao, Impasugong, Bukidnon. The couples were the former Team Leader and Medic of the Squad 1, Platoon 1, of the Sub-Regional Sentro de Grabidad “PEDLER” Sub- Regional Committee 2 of the North Central Mindanao Regional Command.
Tired of evading the military troops, the couple brought with them their two (2) AK47 rifles with four magazines, 80 live bullets, and turned over to the said unit.
Nicole shared their experience inside the NPA terrorist group, “We are tired and afraid of our security inside and thought of our future if we continue to stay in the group so we decided to yield, Army troops are everywhere, We do not know what to do, where to go and whom to believe since even our leaders inside are financially corrupt.”
“We are happy to hear from the couple realizing that they are only carried away by the propaganda issues exploited by this CPP-NPA Terrorist group and that they had no good future if they remain in the group” said by Lieutenant Colonel Ronald M Illana, Commanding Officer of 8th Infantry (DEPENDABLE) Battalion as he personally accepted the couple. “We are still calling the attention of the remaining members of Sub-Regional Sentro de Grabidad ‘PEDLER’ Sub-Regional Committee 2 to surrender and don’t wait to die for we are serious on our military operations to defeat these terrorists.” He ended.
The fifth couple who surrendered to the Army unit will be provided necessary security assistance and be enrolled in the government E CLIP for their benefits.
