Posted to the Western Mindanao Command (WESTMINCOM) (Apr 30, 2023): Soldiers discover enemy lair in Lanao del Sur
Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City – April 30, 2023While conducting intensified military operations, troops of the 3rd Scout Ranger Battalion discovered a makeshift hut in a heavily vegetated area in Barangay Batobato, Maguing, Lanao del Sur on Saturday morning, April 29.
According to Joint Task Force ZamPeLan Commander, Maj. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, the hut is believed to be the hideout of the lawless group under Alias Lomala, who was responsible for the ambush of Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong, Jr.
After searching the hut, operating troops recovered one M16 rifle, one M14 rifle, one bandolier, and personal belongings.
"I commend the troops of Joint Task Force ZamPeLan for this accomplishment. Rest assured that our campaign against terrorism and other criminalities will not falter," WestMinCom Commander, Lt. Gen. Roy Galido, said.
