9 Former Rebels (FR) under the Kilusang Larangang Gerilya (KLG)returned to mainstream society

The FRs were presented by 71st IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Sonny Gonzales during the joint Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) meeting held in Barangay Alangtin.

The FRs also yielded their firearms before PPOC and PTF-ELCAC Chairperson Gov. Joy Bernos and the member-agencies.

One of the FRs, aka “Bakday,” expressed his optimism that their decision would inspire other rebels to make up their minds and return to their families and communities.

The FRs are now currently undergoing evaluation for the processing of the assistance under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
