CAMP Siongco, Maguindanao – The lady governor of Maguindanao, Hon. Bai Mariam Sangki Mangudadatu known as ‘Agila of Maguindanao’ was installed as the new Battalion Commander of 1203rd Regional Community Defense Group in the Change of Command Ceremony held at 6ID gymnasium in Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on November 16, 2020.

Major General Juvymax R. Uy, Commander of 6th Infantry (KAMPILAN) Division and Joint Task Force Central presided over the change of command, wherein Lt. Col. Datu Guiadzali M Midtimbang, outgoing Commander relinquished his post to Governor Mangudadatu who is also a Lt. Col. in the Army Reserve Force.

“Lt. Col. Midtimbang was instrumental in the successful conduct of numerous trainings and exercises within the battalion which paved the way for the improvement of essential knowledge and skills of our personnel in 1203rd RRIBN,” said Maj. Gen. Uy.

Lt. Col. Midtimbang, during his stint in the said battalion completed the computerization of reservist records, mustering and the commissionship of reservists from standby reserve. During his leadership, he initiated the school based Intel nets, bloodletting activities, numerous outreach and tree planting programs.

Maj. Gen. Uy commended him for efficiently leading 1203rd RRIBN into a greater heights and accomplishing gains for the 6th ID.

Likewise, 6ID Chief warmly welcomed the new Commander of 1203rd RRIBn, who, according to him, is a truly empowered woman, who is brave shining example of the successful implementation of Republic Act 7192, which recognizes the women in leadership and provides women rights and opportunities equal to that of men.

“I have known of her skills and her deep-rooted love for public service. Hence, I am confident that she will be able to manage this unit to its fullest. She was awarded as ‘The BEST RESERVIST OFFICER OF THE YEAR 2020’ just last month and that truly emphasizes her service reputation” Maj. Gen. Uy stressed.

Meanwhile, Governor Mangudadatu said that she is committed to further her dedication to the men and women of 1203rd RRIBn while maintaining the peace, security and progress of her constituents in Maguindanao.

According to her, the responsibility as the new commander will bolster a dedicated and committed service anchored on peace and development for the people of Maguindanao as she promised no one would be left behind.

Other attendees were Governor of Sultan Kudarat, Hon. Suharto “Teng” Mangudadatu together with his son Datu Pax Ali S. Mangudadatu of Datu Abdullah Sangki town, who is also a Captain in the Army Reserve Force, and other local chief executives in the area of jurisdiction of JTF Central.
