KITAOTAO, Bukidnon – The 16thIB Maglilingkod Troopers recovered three (3) high powered firearms and war materiel after a firefight with more or less 30 members of the New People’s Army (NPA) at Brgy Balanggigay, Kitaotao, Bukidnon on November 18, 2020.

After the 15-minute firefight, the enemies withdrew and the Maglilingkod Troopers recovered two (2) M16A1 rifle; one (1) M14 rifle; 11 M16 magazines; 11 M14 fully loaded magazines; two (2) backpacks; four (4) bandoliers; four (4) cellular phone; medical supplies; and cooking paraphernalia.



The said NPA members are believed to be under the leadership of Ka David, who are members of Local Guerilla Unit 2 of the Guerilla Front 53.

With the cooperation of the local populace, the timely and positive information they provided about the presence of the Communist-Terrorist Groups in the area prevented another senseless extortion activities, recruitment, and manipulation of the vulnerable residents.

As Christmas is fast approaching, the call intensifies on our few remaining brothers and sisters that have been deceived by the propagandas of the Communist-Terrorists Groups to surrender and have a chance of living peaceful and productive lives.
