PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) chief Ronald Dela Rosa promoted on Wednesday the six police personnel of Davao del Norte Police Provincial Public Safety Company (DNPPO-PPSC) who fought off communist rebels who attacked their detachment in Barangay Malitbog , Panabo City.
Dela Rosa also visited the wake of the slain police SPO1 Nino Moreno on Wednesday afternoon.
“Effective today you are all promoted,” Dela Rosa told them during his visit in their detachment in Barangay Malitbog in the presence of Sr. Supt. Marcial Mariano Mahistrado, the director of Davao Del Norte Provincial Police Office (DNPPO) and other PNP personnel.
The six policemen recommended for meritorious promotion were identified as SPO3 Noel Bastasa Sator; SPO1 Allan Tarzo Wines; SPO2 Renee Borlio Canete; PO3 Love Jovenir Elicano; PO3 Ronde Jamaca Oblimar and PO2 Julius Mar Templa.
Dela Rosa also checked the detachment and recommended them to strengthen their barricade in defense against another NPA attack. He also checked the guard tower where Moreno was detailed at the time of the attack.
Meanwhile, the PNP chief also handed out assistance to the family of Moreno during his visit to the slain cop’s wake in Tagum City. It was learned that Moreno was the breadwinner of the family.
The three members of New People’s Army (NPA) killed in a pursuit operation after the attack on a detachment in Barangay Malitbog, Panabo City on June 22 were already identified by the police. One of the slain rebels was a minor named Peregrino M. Monteroca, 17, resident of Purok 8, Quibaton, Dominga, Calinan District.
The other one was Alan Alfante Dalaguit, married, resident of Purok 3, San Nicolas, Bislig, Surigao del Sur. He was claimed by his sister, Judy Bitang Cordesar, resident of Purok 3, Lemonsito, New Visayas, Panabo City.
The third one was identified as Ambrosio Dapitan Dasok Jr., 42, married, farmer, a resident of Purok 5, Brgy. Pandaitan, Paquibato district and the third was Peregrino Maniva Monteroca, 17, laborer, resident of Purok 8, Quibaton, Dominga, Calinan District.
