From the Philippine Information Agency (Jan 24): Former rebels attend review, assessment gab
Around 40 former rebels from the different towns and cities of Negros Occidental attended the program review and assessment of the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP) held at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, Friday, January 20.
CLIP is a collaborative program of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental and the Philippine Army aimed at providing psycho-social and socio-economic security to former rebels, in order to guide them to become productive members of the society.
According to MGen. Jon Aying, Commander of the 3rd Infantry Division, Phil. Army, the assessment consisted of a participative survey and discussions among FRs; the results will determine the programs impact, effectivity and sustainability.
Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator and Provincial Peace Integration and Development Unit (Pro-PIDU) Action Officer, Dr. Ma. Lina Sanogal, said that the presence of the participants to the assessment is a positive indicator.
She also oriented them of the successful programs and projects of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental that are designed to benefit them, help the community, as well as protect the environment.
Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. thanked the FRs for participating in the activity.
He urged them to send their children to school and said that more opportunities are available for educated children.

The FRs also received food packs, canned goods, water containers, among others.(
