From Ang Malaya (Apr 14): Senator Nancy wants to know how military uses intelligence fund
Senator Nancy Binay questions what the Armed Forces of the Philippines is doing with millions of intelligence fund to not know the real identity of certain individuals.
“This is a clear and obvious lapse on the information gathering mechanism of the AFP that it cannot even find out whether a person is using an alias or not,” the senator said after knowing the the AFP through General Gregorio Catapang that it treated Mohagher Iqbal as a real name.
It turned out during Senate Local Government committee hearing on Monday that even presidential adviser on the peace process Teresita Deles does not know MILF peace panel chair’s real name.
She urges the AFP and peace panel to properly use their funds to know even simple details like the real name of persons they are dealing with.
