The BRP Antonio Luna, the Philippine Navy’s (PN) second missile frigate, will be launched on Nov. 8 in South Korea.

Vice Admiral Robert Empedrad, Navy flag officer in charge, will attend the event along with other top naval officials, she added. The Antonio Luna is the sister ship of the BRP Jose Rizal which was launched on May 23, 2019 also at the Ulsan shipyard.

The two missile frigates are part of an P18-billion contract between the Philippines and Hyundai in October 2016. Some P2 billion from the contract was alloted for the two missile frigates’ systems and munitions.
