Troops from the 72nd Infantry (Gabay) Battalion and the Local Government Units in the Municipalities of Magpet and President Roxas and City of Kidapawan strengthened its relief operations to the victims of the series and disastrous earthquakes that hit the Province of Cotabato last week.

The 72IB troopers under OPCON with 901Bde led by Lt. Col. Rey T Alvarado has been transporting relief goods and temporary shelter materials to far-flung areas affected by the earthquakes. Together with the Disaster Risk Reduction Councils (DRRMC) of the aforementioned city and adjacent municipalities, Gabay troopers worked day and night in repacking goods, assisting displaced families and brought them to evacuations centers. Responsible Officers of the battalion were designated in the Incident Command Posts (ICP) set up in respective affected municipalities to monitor the status of the victims and also help manage the rescuers in the area.
