Army Artillery Regiment welcomes new Commander

From the Philippine Information Agency (Mar 21): Army Artillery Regiment welcomes new Commander

Colonel Erwin De Asis recently assumed as the 6th commander of the Army Artillery Regiment (AAR), replacing Colonel Agane Adriatico who served in acting capacity.

Army Chief Lieutenant General Eduardo Ano presided the Change of Command Ceremony that was held at the Regiment’s Headquarters in Fort Ramon Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija.

“We will endeavor to take good care of the scarce resources the AAR has, assist in whatever way we can in order to contribute to ending the internal security operation by the end of this year and implement the Artillery’s modernization efforts,” De Asis said in his assumption speech.

“I intend to further strengthen the capabilities of the regiment and its Field Artillery units. This is in anticipation of the upcoming transformation of the Regiment into better equipped and modern artillery unit,” he added.

“As we transform, I would like to focus on the areas that need to be further strengthened like professional military education of the personnel, the artillery maintenance system, support facilities, the development of the training area and the sustainment of the artillery units’ operations,” the newly-installed commander, a member of Philippine Military Academy Hinirang Class of 1987 ended.

For his part, Adriatico expressed his gratitude to all of the personnel of AAR.

“Working with you for the past one and half month as the Acting Regiment Commander has been a pleasure and privilege, as well as great experience. Thank you for giving your all out support in every decision that I have made,” he said.

“Rest assured that I am willing to work with you as long as Higher Headquarters would allow me, your presence in the regiment will surely bring the organization into greater heights as what the family of Artilyeros have already accomplished and for more to come in the near future," Adriatico ended.
