FORT ANDRES BONIFACIO, Taguig City (DWDD) – The Philippine Army celebrates its 119th Founding Anniversary, March 22, 2016 in a ceremony at the Headquarters Philippine Army in Fort Andres Bonifacio, Taguig City.
The celebration is led by Lt Gen Eduardo Año, Commanding General of the Philippine Army with this year’s theme “Serving the People, Securing the Land.”
President and Armed Force of the Philippines Commander-in-Chief Benigno Aquino III is the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
Recognition was feted select officers, enlisted personnel, stakeholders, Cafgus, Cadets and civilian employees of the organization.
Lt Col Rosendo C Abad Jr (INF) GSC PA, PMA Class 93, from Flourishing, Gonzaga, Cagayan and currently the Assistant Chief of Staff For Education and Training (G8), Special Operations Command, Philippine Army will be receiving the Distinguished Service Star for eminently meritorious service rendered in a position of major responsibility as Group Commander, 6th Special Forces Company, Special Forces Rgiment, Special Operations Command (SOCOM) with his thrust of intensifying combat operation that resulted to the neutralization of 1-Communist Rebel and and 8-Moro National Liberation Front members; arrest of 12- wanted Lawless Element Leaders and apprehension of 5-Abu Sayyaf Group; and the recovery of 37 assorted Firearms from 11 January 2013 to 01 Feb 2015.
