Outgoing AFP chief visits Eastern Mindanao Command

From the Philippine News Agency (Jul 10): Outgoing AFP chief visits Eastern Mindanao Command

With his retirement day just 10 days away, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief-of-staff Gen. Emmanuel T. Bautista paid a visit to Eastern Mindanao Command in Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City Thursday noon.

This is part of his exit visit to all unified commands to meet military commanders prior his retirement.

Bautista congratulated the officers and men of Eastern Mindanao Command led by Lt. Gen. Ricardo Rainier G. Cruz III for continuously winning the peace in the area of responsibility.

The AFP chief was welcomed by 4th and 10th Infantry Division commanders; Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao chief; Brigade and Task Force heads; field commanders; and other officers of subordinate units.

During his talk to the men, Bautista reminded the soldiers on the Army Transformation Road Map.

“We should be a world-class Army that is a source of pride of our nation," he added. He also thanked his PNP counterparts for their efforts in the Internal Peace Security Program “Bayanihan” implementation.

“You have to continue to work hand in hand among civilian stakeholders for the achievement of lasting peace in Eastern Mindanao,” the retiring AFP chief of staff said.
