Aimed at monitoring the People’s Organization (PO) management of sub-projects and its benefit to the community, Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA)-Southern Mindanao (SouthMin) Regional Management Office recently conducted Sub-Project Implementation and Benefits Monitoring on June 10-11, 2014 in four (4) project sites Sarangani Province.
Facilitated by the BDA-SouthMin Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, the activity was conducted in Barangays Mindupok and Maguling in Maitum municipality, Barangay Lumasal in Maasim and Barangay Tuyan in Malapatan.
Organizational Assessment was also part of the undertaking to check the POs leadership, financial management competence, and management of the facility.
Except for Barangay Lumasal which received two deep sea fishing vessels and fishing implements, the other three Barangays were provided with post harvest facilities like mobile corn shellers, rice thresher and haulers.
The officers and members of the POs expressed their gratitude to BDA and Mindanao Trust Fund (MTF) for the MTF-RDP sub-projects which gave realization of their aspiration to have livelihood projects in their communities.
Living in peaceful coexistence with each other, the constituents of the four beneficiary barangays are comprised of Christians, Indigenous Peoples and Bangsamoro (outside the Bangsamoro Core Territories).
The benefits monitoring will continue to five other barangays in Sarangani few months after the MTFRDP Cycle 1 sub-projects will be turned-over soon.
Complying with the tedious Community Driven Development (CDD) process, the PO officers and members now reap the fruit of their sacrifices. They underwent series of capability building workshops and trainings which were facilitated by BDA regional staff.
There are nine (9) barangays in three (3) municipalities under the Southern Mindanao Region which are beneficiaries of the MTF-RDP under the 4th Partnership Agreement (PPA4) that commenced on April 2012 and will end on April 2015. The project is supported by the Mindanao Trust Fund administered by the World Bank aimed at providing assistance to social and economic recovery of conflict affected areas in Mindanao.
