Army to participate in ADAS 2014

From the Philippine News Agency (Jul 7): Army to participate in ADAS 2014

The Philippine Army (PA) announced that it will be participating in the three-day Asian Defense, Security and Crisis Management Exhibition (ADAS-2014) this July 16 to 18.

Lt. Col. Noel Detoyato, Army spokesperson, said the exhibition show shall cover defense, security and disaster management products and services applicable to the modernization and capability upgrade programs of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (Army, Navy and Air force), Office of the Civil Defense and other government agencies such as the Philippine National Police and Philippine Coast Guard.

ADAS 2014 will be held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

The PA will showcase its current capabilities and humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) capabilities by setting up a showroom in the exhibition hall for the whole duration of the event.

A half-day Army senior leaders Symposium which will be attended by the respective commanders from the PA major units will also be held from 1: 30 p.m. to 5 p.m. this July 17.

ADAS 2014 is an inaugural defense and security event with 200 exhibitors from nine ASEAN members and South Korea are expected to participate.

It likewise provides opportunity for bilateral talks and defense cooperation among the participating ASEAN countries.

The event will also focus on the needs and requirements of the Asia-Pacific Armed Forces, the Internal State Security Organizations and Crisis and Disaster Management Agencies.
