Army troopers and police operatives have arrested a Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) member, wanted for a string of kidnapping and serious illegal detention cases, during operations in Basilan Monday morning.
Capt. Franco Suelto, 1st Infantry Division spokesperson, said the operation took place 7 a.m. at
Arrested was one Ali Salih alias "Abu Sali".
Operatives participating in the arrest include troopers from the 104th Infantry Brigade and Philippine National Police units in Basilan.
Salih reportedly participated in the Golden Harvest and Tumahubong kidnapping operations of the ASG.
The suspect was immediately transferred to PNP Region 9 headquarters for questioning before turnover to the courts.
