From Kalinaw News (Apr 26, 2023): Lawless element nabbed, explosive seized in Maguindanao del Sur
Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City – April 26, 2023Combined elements of the military and police apprehended a notorious lawless element during a joint law enforcement support operation (JLESO) at Sitio Campo Dos, Barangay Kilangan, Pagalungan, Maguindanao del Sur on April 23, 2023.
Joint Task Force Central Commander, Maj. Gen. Alex Rillera said that personnel from the 90th and 34th Infantry Battalions, 1st Scout Ranger Battalion, PNP Special Action Force, and Pagalungan Municipal Police Station conducted the JLESO to serve a warrant of arrest against Joel Manampan, a.k.a. Maula, the most wanted person-national level for the cases of Double Murder, Gun for Hire, Gun Running, Extortion, Carnapping, and Robbery.
Government forces seized one MK2 Fragmentary Grenade and IED components from Manampan’s possession. The apprehended personality was brought to Pagalungan MPS for filing of appropriate charges, while the recovered IED components were turned over to PECU Maguindanao for proper disposition. The recovered MK2 Fragmentary Grenade was brought to 90IB headquarters and subsequently turned over to the 33rd Explosive Ordnance Disposal team for proper disposal.
Western Mindanao Command Chief, Lt. Gen. Roy Galido, commended the operating troops for this successful operation. “Rest assured that together with our partners, we will sustain our collaborative efforts to achieve our common goal.”
