Posted to Kalinaw News (Oct 25, 2021): 200 Residents Benefit from PTF-ELCAC Serbisyo Caravan in Abra
Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija — As part of the Retooled Community Support Program of the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) Abra headed by Hon. Maria Jocelyn Valera Bernos, a Serbisyo Caravan was conducted in a bid to bring the basic services to the Brgys of Umnap, Lat-ey and Buanao, Malibcong, Abra on 22 October 2021.
Under the Retooled-Community Support Program, the Serbisyo Caravan is a multi-agency convergence services delivery wherein it enables the government to implement a whole-of-nation approach together with the different line agencies to focus their projects and programs to conflict-affected and vulnerable areas to eliminate the issues exploited by the CTGs.
Lieutenant Colonel Isidro Vicente, Commanding Officer of 24th Infantry (WILDCAT) Battalion, Philippine Army said that the activity benefited more or less 200 residents from the three (3) brgys.
Among the services rendered are the distribution of relief goods, hygiene kit, face mask and alcohol, grower pellet, floating feeds, hog grower, g-net, piglets, vegetable seedlings, poultry farm training, and free haircut.
Meanwhile, the Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Abra grants livelihood amounting to P300,000.00 each brgys. of Dulao, Duldulao, Lat-ey, and Buanao.
The activity was attended by different agencies such as PSWDO, DILG, DepEd, DSWD, DTI, DOLE, DA, TESDA, BFAR, PPDO, PNP and the 24IB.
Provincial Director DILG Abra Millecent D. Cariño said that before the Caravan, several projects were awarded to these beneficiary brgys.
She encouraged the remaining CTG members to return to the folds of the law and assured them that the government is here to support and provide their package of assistance under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP).
The Acting Commander of the 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division, Philippine Army Brigadier General Luis Rex D. Bergante PA said lauded the LGU in its continued efforts to bring the basic services to the far-flung communities as part of its role in ending the communist armed conflict.
“We support this LGU-led activities for the residents of far-flung communities that require government services. Dahil sa pamamagitan nito nararamdaman ng mga tao ang presensya ng gobyerno kaya malaking bagay talaga ang role ng LGU in terms of addressing the root causes of insurgency sa lugar,” said BGen Bergante.
