ROXAS CITY, Capiz, Feb. 16 (PIA) – Some Roxas City – based people's groups staged an indignation rally against the Communist Party of the Philippines - News People's Army - National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF), Feb. 12, at the People’s Park in Brgy. Baybay, here.
In a simple program, the members of the Hugpong Farmers’ Association, Baybay Fisherfolks Association, Baybay Women’s as well as Youth Organizations and Lawis Fishcage Association coming from the three barangays in the city condemned the CPP-NPA-NDF and their evil doings.
They likewise took an oath of allegiance to the government and promised to support the government initiatives and programs.
“I congratulate the people of Roxas City especially those from the three barangays for denouncing the Communist Terrorist Group in their areas. Let us work hand in hand to end insurgency for our family and for our children’s future,” said 301st Infantry (Bayanihan) Brigade commander Brig. Gen. Marion R. Sison.
During the activity, the participants carried placards and burned the NPA flag to show that there is no room for the communist-terrorist group in their communities.
The peace initiative was organized by the 141st Civil Military Operations Enabler Company of the 301st Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army in view of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s Executive Order No. 70 which institutionalizes the whole-of-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace by ending the local communist armed conflict.
