From Kalinaw News (Feb 21, 2021): Hundreds benefit from Army-LGU medical mission in Aurora



BALER, Aurora-A total of 352 villagers benefitted from a one-day medical-dental mission conducted by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Maria Aurora Led by Mayor Amado M. Geneta and the Army’s 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion, at Barangay San Juan, Maria Aurora, Aurora.

Lt. Col. Reandrew P. Rubio, commander of 91st IB said that the successful health outreach program was realized together with the provincial and municipal medical team, barangay officials and other partners who also participated in.

He said that the personnel of Charlie Company, HHSC, 91IB and 3 CMO Coy led by 1st Lieutenant Roberto Gruta Apelado, Jr., acting CMO Officer participated the Medical Mission with LGU Maria Aurora.

He said that the government troops provided 31 free haircut, 63 optha, 45 circumcision, 17 HIV screening, 11 cough screening, 57 dental, and 128 blood pressure benefited respectively.

Rubio added that the activity is also in line with the implementation of End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) through the delivery of basic services needed by the local residents.

The top military official in this province described the activity as a success, noted that medical missions in impoverished areas are important for them to feel the presence of the government as well as to bring the unit closer to the people.
