KOTA KINABALU: Security forces in Sabah has added three new names into the Eastern Sabah Security Command’s (Esscom) wanted list.
These three are Mamay Aburi, Basaron Arok and Alvin Yusof @ Arab Puti. They are suspects linked to the kidnap for ransom groups, said Esscom commander Datuk Hazani Ghazali.
Mamay is the chief of a Zamboanga group involved in the shooting of Customs officials in Lahad Datu on Dec 20 last year.
“Basaron Arok is the chief of a kidnap for ransom group called the Ajang-Ajang group while Arab Puti is part of Apo Mike’s kidnap for ransom group and was involved in the Tambisan kidnap in January this year, ” he said.
He said this brings the total wanted persons to 21 in Esscom’s list.
“All of them are suspects involved in the kidnappings in Sabah’s east coast, ” Hazani said.
He said these suspects are believed to be still active but hiding.
The others in Esscom’s wanted list are Abu Sayyaf leaders Salip Mura and Hatip Hajan Sawadjaan.
Idang Susukan, who is said to have been behind the beheading of Sarawakian Bernard Then Ted Fen who was snatched from a seafood restaurant in Sandakan in May 2015, is also listed.
