LAMUT, Ifugao, Nov. 29 (PIA) - - Some member agencies of the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) delivered services to identified barangays of the province.
Valentin Baguidudol, Provincial Director of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), disclosed that their office had launched the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay in Tinoc particularly at barangays Tulludan, Wangwang and Binablayan to propel business opportunities in said ELCAC areas.
“Various training on taro flour production and root- based food processing was also conducted with the Ahin Farmers Development Organization Incorporation and Wangwang Women’s and Farmers Organizations,” Baguidudol added.

Meanwhile, Arnel Bilibli of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) stated that their office has conducted information and education campaign on forest protection, conservation, foot patrolling and trainings in insurgency-affected areas Asipulo and Tinoc.
“The PENRO has implemented forestland management projects, national greening program and improvement of access road in support to the whole of nation approach to ELCAC,” he added.
Lieutenant Colonel Narciso Nabulneg, Jr., Commanding Officer of the 54th Infantry Battalion, said at present a total of 11 regular NPAs, 93 Militia ng Bayan and 18 Communist Party of the Philippines- NPA Terrorist (CNT) supporters had surrendered to authorities in the province with 24 fire arms through the collaborative efforts of government agencies and other stakeholders.

He recommended that the municipal and barangay TF-ELCAC of Asipulo and Tinoc to ensure a well-functional council to prevent the revival of NPAs in the rural areas while the PTF-ELCAC should enhance its information and education campaign to prevent CNT- affiliated mass organizations in the urban areas.
