From GMA News (Mar 31, 2019): 7 bandits surrender to PHL Army in Sulu
Seven Abu Sayyaf Group members have surrendered to the Philippine Army in Sulu province on Sunday.
According the Army's 2nd Special Forces Battalion, the bandits surrendered and turned over their guns to authorities in Parang town.
Soldiers said the bandits surrendered due to difficulties of the life in the mountains, hiding from the law.
They are being subjected to interrogation, the Army said.

Meanwhile, Colonel Antonio Nafarette of the Army's 1101st Infantry Brigade said that his command in ready to extend financial assistance, from the government, to those who surrendered to help them start a new life.
Likewise, Nafarette said the seven will be enlisted under the Sulu Provincial government's livelihood program.
