From DWDD AFP Civil Relations Service Radio Website (Apr 30): Maigo LDN Voluntarily Turns Over 34 Firearms and Explosives
KUTA SANG-AN, Labangan, Zambo del Sur (DWDD) – Thirty-four (34) assorted firearms were voluntarily surrendered to Joint Task Force Ranao in the municipality of Maigo, Lanao Del Norte on April 23, 2018.
The ceremonial turn-over of firearms was headed by Hon. Rafael C. Rizalda, municipal mayor, with Colonel Ezra James P. Enriquez, Deputy Brigade Commander of 2nd Mechanized Brigade of the JTF Ranao in the covered court of the municipality.
The yielded firearms and explosives include one (1) light anti-tank weapon, twenty-six (26) high-powered firearms, seven (7) low-powered firearms, eighteen (18) fragmentation and rifle grenades and one (1) improvised explosive.
Mayor Rizalda explained the advocacy of President Duterte in turning over all loose firearms not only in Mindanao but in the entire country as a whole. “Today we turn over loose firearms in my municipality in line with the President’s advocacy.” Said Rizalda.
“Peace and security is a shared responsibility. Collaboration among the local government units, local populace and the securing forces is vital in attaining just and lasting peace in our area of responsibility” said Major General Roseller G.
