DAVAO CITY (DWDD) – The third batch of former rebels will be flown to Manila by the first week of March.
According to Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) spokesperson Major Ezra Balagtey, they will flying the third batch to Manila from Davao City from March 6 to March 8 onboard a C130 aircraft and will be given the same treatment and tour, similar to the first two batches of NPA surrenderees. The first batch of 215 former rebels were sent to Manila last February 6 to 8, while the second batch followed suit a few days later
As of the latest tally, more than 600 NPA members have surrendered to the EastMinCom, which further reduced the armed capability of the communist terrorist group.
Balagtey added that the third batch of rebels include members coming from CARAGA and Davao del Sur areas. AES
