DAVAO CITY (DWDD) – The AFP Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) denied accusations by communist legal fronts that the hundreds of former rebels presented and are given a tour of Manila are “fake”.
According to Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) spokesperson Major Ezra Balagtey, we should not believe in these accusations and first of all, we must verify the source of information.
Secondly, the statement was aimed at downplaying the success gained by the government and the Filipino people against the communist terrorist.
The AFP has attributed the mass surrenders of communist terrorists to President Duterte’s declaration of the status of the NPA as a terrorist group and his promise to help rebel returnees regain their peaceful together with their love ones.
It can be recalled that Philippine National Police (PNP) Director Gen. Ronald dela Rosa accused the New People’s Army of involvement in kidnap-for-ransom activities and other crimes. AES
