From DWDD AFP Civil Relations Service Radio Website (Feb 8): EN MASSE | 130 NPA Terrorist and Sympathizers surrenders in Bukidnon
BUKIDNON (DWDD) – 130 New People’s Army terrorist and sympathizers surrendered en masse in Bukidnon.
According to Captain Norman Tagros, spokesperson, 403rd Infantry Brigade, the latest surrenderees is made up of two (2) regular CPP-NPA members, 35 Militia ng Bayan members, and 93 CPP-NPA mass base supporters from Sumilao, Bukidnon.
They surrendered to local authorities and to the 1st Special Forces Battalion.
The rebel returnees also turned-over 34 assorted high and low powered firearms and an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
Capt Tagros added that the surrender of the terrorist is due to the sustained efforts of the 403rd Infantry Brigade and other operationally controlled units of the 4th Infantry Division under the Community Support Program and their focused military operations in Northern Bukidnon.
In the succeeding surrender ceremony they termed as “Kagsabuwa Para Hu Kalinaw” (Unity for Peace), led by Brigadier General Eric C Vinoya, Commander, 403rd Infantry Brigade, they initiated an “Oath of Allegiance” and afterwards burned a flag of the CPP-NPA. 4DPAO /MCAG
